Do you need Black Friday purchases?

This week is ‘black friday’ week, one of (if not ‘the’) most consumer focussed and marketing driven of the year to get you to part with your money.

On one hand, amongst the noise, there will undoubtedly be some genuinely brilliant deals that can save you a lot of cash - we’ll post some of the best here.

On the other hand, it’s VERY easy to get swept up in the excitement and spending money on things you didn’t really need, or money that would have been better spent elsewhere. This isn’t a weakness, it’s a basic human desire to not to want to feel like you’re missing out.

So, a Monday reminder before this week really gets into its top gear to make sure you’re very mindful about what you’re spending on, periodically switch the noise off and give yourself a break, and ensure you maximise your purchasing power on stuff you really need.

It used to be the same in the January sales…remember the frenzy of the Harrods sale?

Can feel like winning the lottery if you find a great bargain, but that does damage judgement, and you end up with something that you don’t really want, or doesn’t fit!

On the other hand, if you do really need something…this could eb a good week.
