Whilst many of us are familiar with the council tip, and occasional visits to get rid of our unwanted waste, many don’t realise that council tip’s often have shops attached to them.
Essentially, and not unlike an online reselling tool like eBay, the tip team will spot items that are too good to dump, salvage them and put them up for sale for a nominal fee.
There are some absolutely bargains to be had for those prepared to look around, and just as importantly it supports sustainability by saving an item for landfill.
There’s a wonderful article on this with some tips over on the Lottyearns.co.uk website, including a real example of a practically new child’s outdoor toy picked up for £1 from a tip ship, currently on sale for £27 at Argos.
