What is a Schwartz Round?

Schwartz Rounds are group forums giving staff from all disciplines, clinical and non-clinical, an opportunity to think about the emotional and social aspects of working in health ad social care.

The purpose of Rounds is to understand the challenges and rewards that are part of providing care, and are not run to solve problems or to focus on the clinical aspects of patient care.

Rounds can support staff feel more confident in their jobs, allowing them the time and space to think about on their roles. Research shows that staff who attend Rounds feel less stressed and isolated, and have increased understanding and appreciation of each other’s roles.
